10 funniest fools and bugs that came in movies

Starting with the first Iron Man movies, MCU has grown into the largest franchise in Hollywood. The films are massive superhero adventures that weave different stories together throughout the cinematic universe in an incredibly appealing way. But that does not mean that the films are flawless.

Each film features an occasional bug that slips past the filmmakers and ends up in the final film. From incipient errors to inconsistencies in mythology to the simple continuity errors, these fools may not ruin the MCU movies, but they can give a good laugh when fans spot them.

10 Tony’s Upside-Down Mug – Iron Man (2008)

Tony with a Stark Industries mug in Iron Man

Without a doubt, Tony Stark is one of the smartest heroes in MCU. His films often show him that he works hard in his lab on his latest upgrades and cutting-edge technology. But a funny overlooked prop made Tony look pretty silly.

In Iron Man, Tony works at his desk, where a coffee mug on his head can be seen. But in a subsequent shot, he is seen sipping from the same mug. Although he is often focused on work, it seems that he will notice that there is nothing in the cup.

9 New Asgard’s Conflicting Position – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Hulk and Rocket drive in a truck in New Asgard in Avengers: Endgame

After the destruction of Asgard, Thor leads his people to Earth to establish a new home. Avengers: Endgame reveals that the new home is in T√łnsberg, Norway, which is a nice recall to where Tesseract was hidden in Captain America: The First Avenger.

But this fun connection is a bit let down by some overlooked details. The license plate on the Hulk and Rocket truck and the telephone number on the pizza boxes in Thor’s house are both from the UK.

8 Crew Member Makes A Cameo – Doctor Strange (2016)

Doctor Strange helped introduce magic to the MCU, which continues to have very interesting effects on the universe as a whole. Unfortunately, there were no incantations that could remove a stubborn crew member from appearing in a shot.

While Strange explores the porch with all sorts of magical weapons, including his trusty cloak, a crew member can be seen standing in the background. What makes it even more fun is that the man does not seem to be doing anything and it makes the audience wonder why they are there at all.

7 Wrong Directions – Thor: The Dark World (2013)

Given the fact that Thor can fly around and be transported across the universe with Bifrost, it makes sense that he is not familiar with public transportation. In the middle of the climactic battle, Thor is in London’s tube station, asking for directions to Greenwich.

While a seemingly helpful woman advises him to travel three more stops, those familiar with London’s subway system acknowledge that Thor is not even on the right train. Was the woman just incompetent, or was a secret Hydra agent seeking to thwart the hero?

6 Gamora’s Origins – Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

The topic of the extinction of an entire species is certainly not fun, but it also seems like something Marvel would like to be pretty consistent on. When Gamora is captured by Nova Corps in Guardians of the Galaxy, it is noted that she is the last survivor of her people after Thanos killed them all.

However, Avengers: Infinity War shows a flashback in which Thanos tests her new balance theory by killing only half of Gamora’s home world, suggesting that there are quite a few more of her people out there.

5 Cap’s Magic Repairing Shield – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Captain America’s Shield is one of the most significant images of the MCU movies. It has helped Cap through countless battles, but when faced with Thanos, the mad titan manages to smash the shield and crack it almost in the middle.

It’s an effective moment and adds to the sense of Caps’ potential death. But as the rest of the heroes return through the portal, a wide shot reveals Cap standing on the battlefield with his shield completely intact.

4 Ant-Man Duplicates – Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Giant-Man in Avengers Endgame

Perhaps the most epic moment in the entire MCU is the climactic battle in Avengers: Endgame. It’s such a thrill to see pretty much every hero in the cinematic universe come together to receive Thanos’ army. But it seems that the filmmakers, with so many heroes together, sometimes lost track of them.

As the heroes have to open the Quantum Portal, Scott Lang sets out to hotwire the van to get it running. But a moment later, he is seen in Giant-Man form in the middle of the fight.

3 Doctor Strange is unhygienic – Doctor Strange (2016)

Stephen Stange is preparing for surgery in Doctor Strange

When Stephen Strange is introduced in Doctor Strange, he is an ingenious surgeon who is able to save lives by performing impossible procedures. But no matter how talented he may be, he also proves to be quite careless as a doctor when it comes to hygiene.

When Strange is shown ready for surgery, he washes his hands and then puts on his face mask. Many actual doctors among the audience were quick to point out that this is very much against the protocol, as Strange’s hands would then possibly have been contaminated prior to surgery.

2 Black Widow’s Powerful Hair – The Avengers (2012)

Although she does not have the powers of many of her heroic colleagues, Black Widow is one of the best fighters in MCU. She wastes no time showing off her abilities in her first scene in The Avengers when she receives a group of Russian thugs.

But even though Black Widow gives a powerful blow, it is her hair that is truly formidable. In what was certainly meant to be a headbutt, Black Widow throws her head back against a bully, but the stuntman seemed to misjudge things, and he is clearly slapped in the face with her hair. Either way, he is selling the moment and going down hard.

1 Spider-Man’s Video Diary – Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

After a long wait, Spider-Man made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War. He stole the show as the young hero who was just happy to be included in the fun. This is extended in Spider-Man: Homecoming when it was revealed, Peter Parker made a video diary of his time as an avenger.

The gimmick is a fun way to start the movie, but it also defies the reality of the situation. The diary provides a different view of Spider-Man’s introduction as he lands and says, “Hello everyone.” However, that was not how the exchange went down Captain America: Civil War.
