A man has been remanded in custody after barricading himself inside a residence in East Cambridge on Friday, prompting police to close part of the neighborhood down during the conflict, Cambridge police said.

Officers responded to Sciarappa Street on the report of the shooting at. 02.12 and saw the man enter the apartment, Jeremy Warnick, a spokesman for the Cambridge Police Department, said in an email Friday night.
