Damaury Mikula, who has over 4 million followers on TikTok, was arrested on Friday.
He led troopers on a high-speed chase of more than 100 mph, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
One soldier said Mikula thought he could do “whatever he wants” because he is young, rich and has a fast car.
Social media star Damaury Mikula, 18, was arrested Friday after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase for “fun” Fox News reported.
Mikula, who has more than four million followers on TikTok, reportedly started making a “burnout” and smoking the tires on his Dodge Challenger next to a patrol car in Pasco County, Florida, the media reported.
Police say he ran a red light, drove off and led soldiers in a high-speed chase of more than 100 mph, according to Fox News.
Mikula did not stop when a trooper flashed his light and activated his siren, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Video footage of the incident shows Mikula’s Dodge Challenger rushing away while police sirens blare.
The trooper then went to Mikula’s house and arrested him “almost immediately” without incident, according to WFLA.
The WFLA reported that Mikula, after reading his Miranda rights, boasted that he earns $ 400,000- $ 450,000 a year.
“Mr. Mikula said his state of mind was that he is young, makes a lot of money and has a fast car, and he can do whatever he wants,” said trooper W. Kelly of the Florida Highway Patrol according to the WFLA.
“Mr. Mikula admitted that it was a foolish way of thinking and not a good way of living,” he continued. “Mr. Mikula advised that he would do something fun for three seconds, and that cost him.”
Mikula was taken to Pasco County Jail.
County records show he was accused of evading police by violating the safety of people or property, reckless driving and racing on a highway.
