Afterlife Easter Eggs Video reveals the secrets of the film

Franchises love to drop small treats in the form of recall or Easter eggs, and the creative team behind Ghostbusters: Afterlife is no different. In a new featurette, fans are taken on a journey behind all the well-hidden Easter eggs of late Ghostbusters rate. The review shows viewers cameos, tributes and more as the narrator takes us through the hidden treats in The afterlife.

A tribute to the director of the original film, Ivan Reitman, can be found on the back of a truck included in the film. If you look closely, you can see that the truck says “Ivanbuilt Est. 1946. “This shoutout is made for Reitman, who directed both the first and second parts of Ghostbusters. Reitman was born in 1946, and this is where the label’s date comes from. Reitman’s son, Jason Reitman, continued where his father left off and served as director of Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Another Easter egg comes to us in the form of a license plate on a Subaru Outback. This one is a little hard to spot and definitely hard to decode. On the car’s plate is “48IRG91”, which, when unscrambled, stands for: “Ivan Reitman’s Ghostbusters, 1984.” Would not have gotten it without the crash!

Everyone’s favorite look into the spirit world, “Tobin’s Spirit Guide”, also gets a place in the new movie. The original Ghostbusters, specifically Egon (Harold Ramis) and Ray (Dan Aykroyd), constantly referred to and used the book to learn more about the devices they were up against. IN The afterlife, the book is found in the farmhouse, and it is handy for helping children uncover some of the mysteries that unfold around them.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife came to the cinema on November 19, 2021 and served as a follow-up to the 1989s Ghostbusters II. It takes place 32 years after the events of Ghostbusters II and follows Egon’s daughter, Callie, and her children, Trevor and Phoebe, who move into Egon’s farmhouse after dying of a heart attack. Paranormal events and creatures soon begin to introduce themselves to the children, and they are swept away in a ghost-blasting adventure while revealing secrets about their grandfather.

The main role of the feature includes Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, Bokeem Woodbine, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim, Celeste O’Connor, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver.

See all the Easter eggs below, and if you missed it in the cinemas, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is currently available on Digital and is set to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on February 4th.
