Position Summary: The Workforce Education and Development (WED) program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is
accepting applications for part-time, term, non-tenure track faculty positions in the area of organizational training and development to
teach in the on-site undergraduate program at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida

weekends during a regular academic trimester.
The intent of this announcement is to identify a pool of faculty who live in proximity
to the delivery site and are qualified to deliver WED courses as listed.
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach
undergraduate level courses in Workforce Education and Development.
- Master’s degree required (doctorate preferred), from a regionally accredited institution, in one of the following areas: workforce
education, training and development; adult education; human resources; or a related field. The rank of assistant lecturer
requires a master’s degree. The rank of assistant professor of practice requires a doctorate degree.
- A minimum of three years
of documented experience teaching at the postsecondary level, such as a 2-year and 4-year college, the military, or in business and
- Experience in applying workforce education, adult learning, and human resource development principles in business and
- Graduate-level course work in one or more of the following areas: human resource development, workforce diversity,
leadership development, workforce education research, needs assessment, occupational analysis, adult learning theory, instructional
methodology, curriculum development, training evaluation, training systems management, and foundations of workforce education.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with a background in the specific course content of the available assignment
(specific course needs change semester to semester).
