Assistant Professor of Lighting Design
Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre invites ambitious, energetic, and quality driven applicants for the tenure track Assistant Professor of Lighting Design & Technology position beginning August 2022.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. The candidate will teach design and technical theatre courses from a dynamic intercultural perspective and have a deep understanding of the artistic process.
Required qualifications include:
- MFA in Theatrical Design and Technology
- Evidence of professional achievement in lighting design
- Experience as a Master Electrician
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
- Evidence of creative research and national profile
- Successful university level teaching and mentorship
- Evidence of successful grant writing
- Digital media experience strongly desired
- Proficiency in Vectorworks or AutoCAD, Lightwright, ETC Eos, Augment3d, and other lighting/media control software platforms
- Additional skills and expertise in other areas of design and production to aid in departmental growth.
- Collaborative team player
This position will also serve as Lighting Designer and Master Electrician for all OSU Theatre’s theatrical, dance, and musical theatre productions.
