Blade Star Mahershala Ali is excited to get the Marvel role from Wesley Snipes

Wesley Snipes’ legacy as Blade will clearly not be forgotten in Marvel Studios’ upcoming restart, where Mahershala Ali, who will play the vampire hunter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, declares that he will do his best to get the honor of taking over. Clear to feel the pressure something, the Moonlight and Alita: Battle Angel star is nonetheless hugely excited to make an impression.

“You know, what I’m looking forward to is earning it. I look forward to earning … you know, there’s an expectation of that, there’s a thrill to what he owns, like Mr. Snipes owner. And so with filling his shoes, I’m just working on earning my place in this and I’m excited to get started and get the job done. ”

So reputable is Snipe’s performance as a Daywalker (just do not mention it Blade: Trinity) that many fans had hoped that Marvel would bring the actor back for more when they introduced the character in the MCU battle. Of course, that has not turned out to be the case when Oscar winner Mahershala Ali stepped into the role. Instead of being disappointed, Snipes has since approved Ali as Blade, and takes to social media to say: “Good luck to Mahershala Ali, who will smash it, I’m sure, but he will have a hard time surpassing Wesley Snipes,” before concluding his message with: “He will make it great. ”

Details about Marvel’s restart Blade comes slowly to light, with an apparent synopsis that apparently confirms that the MCU’s bid for the anti-hero will stay pretty close to many of the elements that made Snipes’ tenure so successful. “Even being a half-human / half-vampire,” Daywalker “Eric Brooks (Ali) has honed his abilities to hunt down the undead who have long terrorized humanity,” reads the supposedly leaked longline. “Since his tragic birth, Blade has spent his long life ridding the world of vampires like the one who killed his mother. Over the years, he has mastered his own style of fighting all kinds of monsters.”

While Snipes has no worries about Ali’s casting, the actor recently offered his two cents over what he thinks will make the audience clap. “My question is not to him, it’s the people around him,” Snipes explained. “It takes something big and very special to make an iconic film. And you do not even know if it will be iconic until it’s done. The people decide. . . I want the same reaction we got with the versions we did. The audience in the theater shouted and clapped. I’m looking for that. ”

Marvel’s version of Blade has now made its MCU debut thanks to the post-credit scenes from the latest MCU release, Eternal, with Ali’s voice outside the screen guiding Kit Harington’s Dane Whitman over whether he’s really ready to use the coveted Ebony Blade. Da 5 Blood star Delroy Lindo was recently confirmed to play alongside Ali, with Guards author Stacy Osei-Kuffour pressed to write the script and Mogul Mowgli director Bassam Tariq on board to lead the project. Blade does not yet have a release date, but the film is scheduled to begin production at Trilith Studios in Atlanta in late summer 2022. This comes to us from Jake’s Takes.
