Game developers Motive Studio has shown some very early development images from the remake “Dead Space” as part of a developer’s showcase earlier today.
Creative director Roman Campos-Oriola and senior producer Phillippe Ducharme discussed the project, saying the plan is to stay true to the original’s horror aesthetic no matter what. The recordings showed, among other things, major improvements in lighting, textures and volumetric fog.
Gunner Wright, who voiced Isaac Clarke in the sequels, returns to repeat his role for a new dialogue in the game. The original kept Isaac completely silent, though it seemed strange that he did not speak.
The remake does not have a particularly talkative Isaac, but he will respond to characters or speak in certain situations. He will mostly remain quiet to maintain the eerie atmosphere of the game.
The remake “Dead Space” will be released sometime next year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC.
