Ranking of Kings Anime Coming to Funimation in October

Funimation announced Tuesday that the fantasy anime epic Ranking of kings will only be available to stream on its platform from next month.

The anime series tells the inspiring story of a young deaf prince named Bojji and his mysterious outcast friend Kage. In the series, the duo will embark on an “epic and amazing journey filled with adventure, self-discovery and perseverance as they overcome the world’s adversity and their own personal relationships”, according to a synopsis for the anime.

Funimation will be the exclusive streamer for the series when it debuts on Friday, October 15, 2021 with both subtitles and dubbed episodes available. The series is based on Tōka Sōsuke’s beloved manga series, which debuted in 2017 and has quickly become a fan favorite.

“Bojji, was born as the first prince in the kingdom ruled by King Bosse, who is ranked number seven in the kingdom rankings,” it says in the overview of the manga. “But Bojji was born unable to hear and is so powerless that he cannot even swing a sword. As a result, not only his own detractors but also the public see him as completely unfit to be king. It is then that Bojji finds his first friend, Kage. His fateful encounter with Kage ignites a small spark of courage, and their lives both take a dramatic turn. ”

Ranking of kings comes from the production house Wit Studio (Attack on Titan, Vinland Saga, Vivy-Fluorite Eyes song-), with Yosuke Hatta attached as instructor and Atsuko Nozaki delivering character design. The music is composed by MAYUKO with the opening theme “BOY” performed by King Gnu.
