MANTUA TOWNSHIP, NJ (CBS) – Shots fired overnight in a quiet community. A suburb of Gloucester County is now the site of a police-involved shooting.
The New Jersey Attorney General’s shooting response team is now investigating. Crime ties are still blocking a home after a reported shooting.

Officers have been on the scene for nearly ten hours. Authorities say they were called to the 200-block Elm Avenue in Mantua around 2 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police are now at a very early stage of their investigation.
The Attorney General’s office would not say why police in Mantua Township were called to this quiet community early Tuesday morning.

About a dozen shell casings were scattered on the road.
The shooting took place just half a mile from the Mantua police department and a few blocks from an elementary school.
Authorities say there is no threat to society from this incident.
