I look back with pleasure on looking Lord of the Rings movies for the first time in cinemas. These three movies are my favorites ever. They were all amazing films and it must have been an incredible experience for the actors in the films to be a part of it. I imagine it may not be easy for them to pick a favorite, but that’s exactly what Elijah Wood did in a recent interview with ReelBlend podcasts.
Wood played Frodo Baggins in the trilogy, and when asked what his favorite movie in the trilogy was, he said it was the first The community of the ring, and he explains why:
The feeling of shooting Fellowship was always extraordinary because of this group dynamic. Especially for me it was getting to spend time with the four Hobbits as a unit, which was so nice and we were all so close. Being with Viggo (Mortensen) and Sean Bean and Orlando (Bloom), having that whole unit and working together on some of these sequences was just always exciting, most of the Fellowship things were shot earlier days, so there was a certain cohesion in it. But yes, I, like you, also share a specific love for Fellowship of the Ring as a movie. There’s something about the community, the connection they share, the cohesion of that journey, the beginning of the journey that then shatters and turns into so many different things from The Two Towers – and I love those movies, too. They are incredible and they are dynamic and super emotional. But there’s something really magical about The Fellowship of the Ring that’s so beautiful, and I think, well, it’s still my favorite of the three movies.
I have to agree with him on that. I have to say that Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring is also my favorite in the trilogy. It tells the story of how the journey begins! It is the film that brings together Fellowship. It’s the movie that attracted the audience and made us excited about the next two movies that were on the way!
On top of that, I just have such wonderful memories of watching the movie in cinemas several times with my friends and future wife. It was best to attend the first midnight shows for each of the movies! What is your favorite movie in Peter Jackson‘s Lord of the Rings trilogy?
