PS5 Updates: Where to find a PS5 console next week

Last week, PS5 rebuilds were busy. Best Buy had consoles, but only in stores on Thursday, which led to some aspiring players camping overnight to get one. Walmart originally planned two restocks the same day, though a technical issue prompted the retailer to change plans and have only one. PlayStation Direct also had several rebuilds during the week. We are keeping an eye on which store will have more consoles next week, but that may be slow as most retailers had refills over the past two weeks.

Want your fingers in a PS5? We have tracked all the sites that sell both standard edition and the digital edition of PS5 for several months, thousands of people help snap up the console when it appears. If you’ve had trouble finding one yourself, this article provides helpful tips on how to get to the checkout and how to track when the next PS5 batch can be purchased.

Why is the PS5 so hard to find?

There are three major reasons why you are still struggling to get a PS5. The first is the most obvious: the system is really popular. Sony says that the PS5 is its best selling console and already has sold 10 million units since launch.

The second reason is the power chip shortage affects most of the world’s electronics. Sony said it has secured enough chips to meet its target of 14.8 million consoles for the financial year.

As for the last reason, it comes down to bots. Retailers use software to buy a massive number of PS5s at one time, so there are only a few left for actual people to buy. Dealers added various bot protections during PS5 rebuilds, but these restrictions only hamper dealers so much.

Where has the PS5 been available lately?

Stock refreshments have been thin on the ground this month, though they have accelerated this week. Here’s a look at the latest PS5 rebuilding history:

How can I get a PS5 from PlayStation Direct?

The store with the most frequent PS5 refills is Sony’s official store, PlayStation Direct. Drops usually occur at. 14.00 PT (17.00 ET) in the middle of the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). What Sony has been doing lately is giving a couple of lucky email invitations for exclusive access to the store, which typically starts at. 12.00 PT (15.00 ET).

To get one of these special invitations, you not only need luck, you also need a PSN account. You can sign up for one at PSN website and it’s free. While signing up, make sure you have signed up for all promotional emails in the settings of your PlayStation account. From here, it’s a matter of being patient and having a little luck on your side. Priority Access emails appear to be sent at random, but you must join one of the queues on PlayStation Direct to be considered.

PlayStation Direct PS5 refill works a little differently than other retailers. At the start time, there is a welcome page with a countdown timer indicating when the queue starts. You can stay on this page, and as time goes on, the site starts putting people in line to buy a PS5. The page refreshes and says how long to wait, but that’s not a guarantee. To help your chances when standing in a queue, share the link with your other devices like your phone. Make sure each device uses a different IP address (for example, having your phone on its mobile plan while your computer uses your home Wi-Fi). This can improve your chances as your other device can be put in a different line moving at a faster pace. Even if you do not get a PS5, as mentioned earlier, you can still get a passport to buy one in the next round.

What are some helpful tips for buying a PS5?

Large retailers such as Walmart, GameStop, Amazon, Target and Best Buy usually do not give much notice prior to a refill. Sometimes they get a refill in the morning, other times in the afternoon and in some cases, even in the middle of the night. Here are some tips to help you get ahead of the competition.

First tip: Do not wait until you see a warning about a PS5 stock drop. Check the links at the major retailers for stock updates daily or even several times a day. (We have them all listed below). If you happen to get any PS5 availability, go all-in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desk, for example. Open the reseller page in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Then do the same on your phone and tablet. The more devices and browsers, the better. It’s like a lottery: the more you have, the greater your chances of winning.

Second tip: Create accounts with the various retailers and make sure you are already logged in if you want to try to get a PS5. Make sure all your shipping, billing and payment information is up to date on the device you can purchase from, whether it’s a laptop, desktop or phone. This makes it much faster to check, which is crucial as retailers’ websites crash quickly, leading to people losing their chance of getting a PS5.

How do I get early access to a PS5 rebuild?

It has been previously explained that one of the best ways to ensure that a console is ready to be purchased immediately was to ensure that you had created an account and were logged in, but there is another way to skip the line a bit. While most retailers would very much like you to show up when something is marked in stock, the extended difficulty of getting a PS5 encouraged GameStop to offer early access to sales for its paid members.

To increase your chances of getting a PS5 from GameStop, simply sign up for the PowerUp Rewards Pro program. This is a subscription program that GameStop has had for years, and it uses this program to offer discounts and coupon codes as well as a subscription to Game Informer magazine.

This program costs $ 20 a year, and if GameStop is true to its promise, people who are part of this program will be able to get a PS5 before it is available to everyone on the site.

Where else can I buy a PS5 if I am willing to pay extra?

If you’re starting to crack and are considering buying a PS5 right now (and we know that with the number of major PS5 games that are declining over the next few months being pressured), you can do it, but for the price of a great markup on sites like eBay or StockX. For example, on eBay, we’ve seen PS5 units priced at over $ 1,000, although prices have slowly dropped to around $ 700.

If you’ve decided that you simply can not wait a moment for Sony to take control of and flood the market with inventory, eBay is a shortcut to getting your own PS5 right now. That said, let me repeat our advice: No PS5 is worth spending hundreds over the list price, and that’s exactly what you need to do if you buy from an eBay retailer. The average PS5 price on eBay is around $ 850.

OK, you have exhausted all the online and brick dealers and you have decided that you are willing to pay up to $ 300 to get this puppy soon. As your friends, we must tell you: Do not. But if you do not want to listen to us, you can check it out StockX, an eBay alternative that made its name in the secondary market for sneakers and designer clothing. Last time we checked, the prices on the PS5 were around $ 700.
