Department Summary

The University of North Texas High School Career Connect is seeking candidates for the position of Administrative Coordinator. High School Career Connect is a grant funded program that provides career guidance to middle school and high school students in the Denton County area. This employee will perform independently within established goals, may be expected to create his/her own goals, as well as work under the supervision of the Director and staff of HSCC.

Position Summary

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Assisting the full time staff with scheduling of mentors and the partner schools; hire, train, and support mentoring team; travel to schools; and, create and present presentations to support the mission of HSCC.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of highly responsible and varied office or mentoring/advising experience. or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. bilingual preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree plus 1 year of related experience, and the following additional skills: knowledge of mandates as it pertains to college and career requirements for middle and high school students in the state of Texas and requirements for various degrees at UNT; ability to work independently, track and follow-up with students, ability to work on complex and confidential tasks, and, excellent communication skills.

Work Schedule: 8-5, M-F, some nights and weekends.

Driving University Vehicle: No
