Adult Swim and Crunchyroll premieres the first trailer for “Shenmue”, the first anime series based on Yu Suzuki’s famous SEGA video game series.

After witnessing his father’s murder at the family dojo, Ryo dedicates his life to finding the man responsible – a mission that takes him from the streets of Yokosuka to the sprawling city of Hong Kong and beyond.

He is quickly told that greater, more mysterious forces are at play as he trains to become the ultimate martial arts artist in his quest for revenge. Many voice actors from the games return to the series.

First announced a year ago, the thirteen-episode series is directed by Chikara Sakurai (“One Punch Man”) and executive produced by Yu Suzuki. Adult Swim and Crunchyroll will air the show sometime in 2022.
