France chooses ‘Titane’ as Oscar submission

Julia Ducournau Titanium, which won the Palme d’Or back in July’s edition of the Cannes Film Festival, has been selected by France as its contribution to the International Feature Film category for the 2022 Academy Awards. Although the film has been praised, the selection is a bit of a surprise considering the more traditional films generally submitted in this category. Of all the films submitted in the International Feature Film category, only five have been selected for nomination for the Oscars.

The story follows a woman (Agathe Rousselle) with a metal plate in her head as a result of a car accident as a child, and her relationship with a firefighter (Vincent Lindon), who is missing a son.

The other two films France had selected on the list were the winner of Audrey Diwan of the Venice Golden Lion The event (Happens) and Cédric Jiminez North Bac (The fortress).

I’m still pressured that they did not submit PoaLoF!! Does this get a nom?
