Too short apologies for his alleged colorist comments: I Love My Blackness + says that true beauty and ugliness exist in all groups of people

Too short acknowledges its resurgent controversy and apologizes.

As you may remember, Too short caused controversy last year during an Instagram Live with other West Coast rappers Saweetie. While talking to Saweetie, which is half black and half Filipino, Too short came with comments that many perceived as colorist. The 55-year-old rapper originally proclaimed:

“I love interracial relationships.”

Saweetie, 27, then made him elaborate. Too short explained:

“I’m from the bay… When I leave the bay – as a young man moved around – you would see one [racially ambiguous girl], and you’re like ‘What did you mix with?’ And they would be offended! They would be like ‘I’m black!’ And I’m like ‘No, you’re definitely mixed up with something’ and they would get mad. But in the bay you can meet a girl and – before you even say her name – be like ‘What did you mix with?’ And she would probably tell you that her mother is this, her father is that. ”

He continued:

“Mixed heirlooms have always been my favorite. I do not think I have ever fallen in love with a woman who was not mixed. And the bay did it against me. That’s how I feel about life too. Just like biracial babies are … You can take the two ugliest morph ** kers from different breeds, and they f ** k and have a baby, and that baby is just beautiful! It happens all the time. It is true!”

At this stage, Saweetie interjects by exclaiming “bruh!” Too short then adds:

“You look like ‘I know you did not make the beautiful baby’ [but] However, you can see the features in it, like ‘You all did, I see it!’ True story.”

Recently, Too short‘s aforementioned comments have reappeared and he has been slapped as a colorist by many. In response to the setback, rapper “The Ghetto” has apologized for his remarks. He recently said:

“I would like to apologize to everyone who came across my words. I’m from the Bay area, I get up in the bay, and the whole race for me has never been a factor in my circles … In the bay, there are a lot of mixed cultures and mixed people. Like it was like that before I got there. ”

Too short went on:

“I’m not really crazy about all the hatred for ‘I hate you because you’re light’ or ‘You’re the best because you’re dark.’ I’m just not into it. And I love my blackness, and I love my family on my mom’s and dad’s side. We have every complexion – light, curly, dark, everything! You cannot have blood in your body that makes you better than anyone else. ”

He ended his apology by saying:

“You can not be born of better parents or better breeding. There is no such thing. True beauty is in every economic class, every race – and you can also find the ugly just about everywhere. ”
