St. Thomas Aquinas College invites applications for the position of Accountant. The focus of this position will be to assist in the
monthly closing process and analysis of the financial statements for the College. The incumbent will prepare journal entries for
the reconciliation of the general ledger, prepare account reconciliations (Bank, GL and Vendor), balance sheet analysis and
various special projects to support the financial function of the College. The accountant will also assist with the preparation of
the quarterly reporting package and related analysis, year-end financial statement audit, including preparation of the annual 990,
single audit, annual audit, and compliance requirements of the College. Additional responsibilities include working with
colleagues across campus to ensure that financial transactions are accurately recorded, assist in the reconciliation of restricted
funds with other departments, such as Institutional Advancement and Grants and provide back-up of payroll processing.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Five or more years of well-rounded
accounting and reporting experience; preferably in a fund accounting environment.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP Accounting and
familiar with Non-Profit Fund Accounting.
- Strong Computer skills utilizing excel and experience working with an ERP.
- Strong communication and exceptional reporting and analysis skills a must.
- Elevated computer skills with ability to adapt to
new technologies and enhancements.
- Adeptness in computer applications, including accounting software and Microsoft Office
Excel and Word.
