The Joan Phelps Palladino School of Dance is looking for dynamic, experienced, student-centered educators to teach assigned lower and upper division studio-based courses in Ballet, Jazz Dance, Hip Hop, Classical and Contemporary Modern Dance, Contemporary Partnering Techniques, Tap Dance, Ethnic and Cultural Dance forms, Dance Composition and Choreography, Dance Pedagogy, LMA, or Pilates.
The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen to teach at Dean College create a compelling and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds.
All faculty will be expected to make active use of the learning management system Canvas at least at a minimum level established by the college. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The adjunct pay rate typically is $3,200 per section for a course that meets for the equivalent of three weekly contact hours per semester.
The Palladino School of Dance provides a course charter with course objectives and learning outcomes and sample syllabi. Adjunct Faculty in Dance positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The Spring semester begins mid-January and ends in early May.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, required;

- Extensive professional experience in relevant field, preferred;
- Experience and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body with a variety of learning styles, required;
