Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, who is currently being held in Mumbai’s Arthur Road prison following his alleged involvement in drug ship cruises, has read religious books in prison.
According to the prison administration, Aryan Khan was worried in jail after his bail was denied. Prison authorities suggested he read the library’s books.
After this, Khan got books from the prison library. For the past two days, Aryan Khan has been reading a book written about Lord Ram and Mother Sita. Earlier, Khan had read a book called The Lion’s Gate.
According to the prison administration, if a prisoner so wishes, he can get a book of his choice from his relatives, but only religious books are allowed. Apart from this, if a prisoner leaves a book while leaving the prison, then it is also included in the library.
Mumbai’s Special Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court on Thursday extended the detention of Aryan Khan and others until October 30 in connection with the cruise ship case.
Earlier Wednesday, the special court refused to provide bail to Aryan Khan and two others in connection with the seizure of drugs. Following this, Aryan Khan moved a bail application in Bombay High Court against the NDPS bail order.
The Bombay High Court hears the bail on October 26.
An NCB team blew up an alleged drug party on the cruise ship Cordelia, which was on its way to Goa by the lake on 2 October.
A total of 20 people, including two Nigerian nationals, have so far been arrested in the case.
