Responsibilities:
Development of a high-impact, nationally recognized program in Goat and Sheep production;state-wide management and implementation of programs for the economic benefit of small producers. Development of effective research-based education programs on Small Ruminants focusing on management, production and marketing; writing of grant proposals for extramural funding to support Extension programs; development of collaborate projects with faculty with the University and other institutions; working as a team with other state specialists, Extension educators and LUCE satellite center professionals; cultivation of relationships with various community, state, and federal agencies, as well as University of Missouri Extension; production and dissemination of resource materials and publications (e.g. fact sheets, guide sheets articles), publish in Extension-related publications as well as other peer reviewed journals; contributing to relevant professional societies.

Qualifications:
Required:Ph.D. in Animal Science or closely related filed with an emphasis on Small Ruminant production, management, and/or nutrition from an accredited university; two years experience working with Goats and Sheep. The candidate must also send a portfolio of publications, including those written for the target audience. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to conduct quality research and secure extramural funding; demonstrated ability to work with low-income, ethnically diverse, under-served audiences from marginalized communities in informal group settings; ability to function in a diverse team of faculty and students.

Preferred:Experience developing and conducting educational sessions via distance learning and on virtual platforms; an understanding of the mission of 1890 Land Grant Universities; and the ability to read, speak and understand Spanish.
