Light shows, drive-through events on Long Island during the 2021 holiday season

The glow from annual outdoor light shows provides a dazzling holiday decoration geared to warm your heart and make your season light. Here are some that are expected to return this year:

FLASHING SUNSHIP The walk-thru event features seasonal lights and sounds along the paths of Old Westbury Gardens that take you through Walled Garden, Rose Garden, South Lawn and Allée, November 20 to January 9, 2022, $ 32.95, $ 17.95 aged 3-17 years; $ 29.95, $ 16.95 aged 3-17 years low; shimmeringsolstice.com. THE MAGIC OF LIGHT ON JONES BEACH Wrap everyone in the car and experience “Magic of Lights” a holiday trip that takes you down winding paths filled with twinkling lights, holiday-themed exhibitions and well-known holiday characters. The display fills the night sky from dusk on November 13 and runs through January 10. Featured light displays with LED technology and digital animations include the “Blizzard Tunnel” as well as other recurring areas. BAYVILLE WINTER WONDERLAND Walk around an outdoor holiday park surrounded by decorations and lights. Attractions include: ice skating, Toy Factory Fun House walk-through photos with Santa and a letter sent to your child from Santa. Santa is behind a plexiglass barrier for safety. “Holiday Express” train ride, the Christmas tree forest and holiday character meet and greet as well as holiday arts and crafts. Opens November 26 through January. Opens at 18:00 Friday, at 15.00 on the weekend, December 26 and January 1. LONG BEACH HOLIDAY LIST ON BOARDWALK Take a walk by the ocean and experience a nautical-themed holiday light show along the Long Beach boardwalk, dusk until 11pm daily December 3rd to mid-January, from Long Beach to National Boulevards, Long Beach. GIRL SCOUT HOLIDAY LIST SHOW Girl Scouts of Suffolk County’s drive-thru screen has 2 miles of holiday-themed lights; opens at 5 pm 27 Nov.-Jan. 9. Closed 24-25. December and 31 December.
