MX Original series Matsya Kaand awakens the daredevil of an ingenious deceiver to life, who locks the horns with the persistence of a sharp policeman, and what follows is an intense game of catching me, if you can. It’s about the artist Matsya Thada and the bad cop ACP Tejraj Singh, and all episodes of this exciting con-thriller are streamed for free from 18.th November.
There are no two ways to look at how brilliant an actor is Ravii Dubey is, and what I like best about him is that how he strives to be the best in his craft. Takes on challenging roles one after the other, his next web series Matsya Kaand is definitely worth seeing. The OTT giant MX Player brings us the captivating story of a man who painted his cons with sheer brilliance, suitability and charm. The 11-episode web series portrays the story of a glorious deceiver who has carried out the country’s most unique and biggest robberies and yet managed to slip past the police.
And before I tell you why you should definitely watch, Matsya Kaand, check out the show’s trailer here:
Here are 3 reasons why you should check out MX Player’s latest offering in the OTT universe:
1) Ravii Dubey in 11 different avatars
This is by far the most creative project by Ravii Dubey, for the actor has undergone a serious transformation – not only physically in terms of appearance, but also in terms of body language and voice modulation. But what amazes me, especially from the trailer, is that we will see Ravii in not 1, not 2, but 11 different avatars in 11 episodes. What’s also impressive is the way Ravii has juggled these various transformations. Matsya Thada looks unrecognizable and incredible in every avatar he takes on, and his preparation for this layered role is what makes it worth seeing.
Speaking about his role, Ravii said in a statement,
A master of disguise, a charmer and a smooth talker with a sharp brain – the journey of playing the ingenious deceiver Matsya has been exciting. This one show made me write roles in many layers and really challenged me as an actor, which made me test my own versatility. I really hope this complex character strikes a chord with audiences across the country, and I can promise you that this tale will keep you hooked to your screens.
2) Ravi Kishan as ACP Tejraj Singh
Any scammer should have a super cop who acts as an obstacle in his’cand’s, but ACP Tejraj is different. Not only did I find Ravi Kishan‘s cop avatar scary but also very impressive. Ravi Kishan aka ACP Tejraj is a cunning, ruthless and focused cop whose greatest strength is that he can think like his goals and he is not afraid to go against the system to justify a means to the end. Well, even though Ravii Dubey wearing so many avatars is exciting to me, I’m completely messed up by ACP Tejraj, who is on a mission to catch the scammer.
3) Cat and mouse hunting
What I always love about con-thrillers is the element of suspense it has, and this noir theme is definitely the edge of the kind of story that I would like to overlook. I’m really looking forward to seeing the cat and mouse hunt between ACP Tejraj and Matsya Thada. Especially after getting Matsya to tell AVP in the trailer, ‘aapki naak ke neeche se nikal jaunga aur aap ko pata bhi nahi chaleg’ it’s a hunt I look forward to.
Well, MX Player is going to completely change the game in the thriller genre with this one. Another great thing about Matsya Kaand is that it has been shot across Delhi, Meerut, Sambhar and Jaipur. The series also participates Piyush Mishra, Zoya Afroz, Madhur Mittal, Rajesh Sharma, and The name Aslam among other things in key roles. It is directed by Ajay Bhuyan and will exclusively stream on MX Player from 18th November.
Honestly, I would recommend you grab some popcorn, for this honorable gentleman thief will not let you blink for a second. And do not forget, he is not one kaatil, men a kalakaar if charm will only amaze you, then embrace yourself.
