Radio programs that are also shown on television have sometimes the TV simulcast anticipated or moved in favor of live sporting events, and the hosts often get angry about that. A prominent example is Mike Francesa’s war with FS1 over the UEFA Champions League and NASCAR training improvements (both of which received significantly higher ratings than his show). The latest incident where this happened came on Jim Rome’s show on Thursday, where the CBSSN simulcast of the last two hours of that show was predicted for the finals of the International Swimming League.
Note: This post has been updated. The clip below makes it look like Rome is complaining about himself, but the actual language of complaint at the beginning of the clip was apparently that he was quoting a tweet from an offended listener. Here is the tweet:

As mentioned earlier, “I do not have a problem with that” and “They have other characteristics” are significantly more conciliatory than “You idiots!”, And the news that Rome actually quoted another for the first inflammatory part. makes his answer much more sensible. We apologize for passing this clip on and misinterpreting the context that was not shown in the clip.
