More AND Xbox games appearing on the store front, could suggest new backwards compatible titles

We’ve seen some more bizarre store activity that could indicate that some original Xbox games, including Max Payne, Max Payne 2, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, Red Dead Revolver, and more may soon be backwards compatible treatment.

new Xbox backwards compatible games AND

A batch of new games, first seen by XboxEra, was recently added to the old Xbox Store, which has not seen any new titles since 2019 (the year Microsoft dropped the backward compatibility program to focus on the Xbox Series X | S), other than the seven AND Xbox games we previously reported on back in October. Here is the list of titles that have appeared on the store front and our scanners:

  • Dead or alive
  • Human hunting
  • Max Payne
  • Max Payne 2
  • Oddworld: Munchs Oddysee
  • Red Dead Revolver
  • Star Wars: Clone Wars
  • Star Wars: Episode III
  • Thrillville

Dead or Alive 2 / Dead or Alive Ultimate and Dead or Alive 3, which were in the first game we found in October, also seem to have reappeared here. All of the games above have been listed with a release date of November 10th, with the exception of DoA 3, which has a release date of November 15th (same day as the Xbox 20th Anniversary Stream).

It’s worth remembering here that this store activity does not confirm anything – it may simply be Microsoft testing something. But with the previous seven AND Xbox games found in October and the two Xbox 360 titles recently updated with backward compatibility IDs, eyebrows are raised.
