Blade Runner: Black Lotus boasts impressive casts of voice actors in both its English and Japanese versions. Although subtitles vs. The dub debate may never be settled, those who appreciate each format can be sure that the first Blade Runner animated series are a high quality production. This is not surprising given the talent behind the series includes Apple seeds director Shinji Aramaki, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex director Kenji Kamiyama and Cowboy Bebop director Shinichirō Watanabe.

The first TV series produced in Blade Runner universe, Blade Runner: Black Lotus is the product of a joint venture between Adult Swim and CrunchyRoll. Sort Lotus is set in the year 2032, fixed between the two Blade Runner film, 10 years after the creation of replicants was completely banned. The series is centered around a young woman with memory loss named Elle, who shows amazing fighting skills despite her apparent youth.

While Elle is an original character created for Blade Runner: Black Lotus, the series features characters who have previously appeared in Blade Runner 2049. In some cases the English Blade Runner the cast includes the original actors from the films, who express the same characters that they played in live-action. Elle is voiced in the English version of Jessica Henwick, who has previously voiced Alexia in Netflix’s Zeus blood and will soon appear opposite Keanu Reeves in The Matrix Resurrection. In Japanese Blade Runner cast, Elle is voiced by Arisa Shida, best known as Ameno in the Japanese version of Naruto: Ship bags.

Doc Badger – Barkhad Abdi (English) and Takayuki Kinba (Japanese)

The first person to show Elle any kindness on the streets of Los Angeles, Doc Badger runs a pawn shop but has more than a few shady sidewalks. Barkhad Abdi, who played Doc Badger in Blade Runner 2049, plays the role once again in the English version of Blade Runner: Black Lotus. In Japanese Blade Runner starring, Doc Badger is voiced by Takayuki Kinba, who has previously voiced various characters in Tiger & Dragon.

Joseph – Will Yun Lee (English) and Shinshu Fuji (Japanese)

Joseph is a mysterious man who runs a junkyard, and also tries to help Elle reveal the secrets of her past. English Blade Runner starring, Joseph is played by Will Yun Lee, who is best known for playing Dr. Alex Park i The good doctor, Sang min ind Hawaii fem-0, and protagonist Kovacs in Altered carbon. In Japanese Blade Runner starring, Joseph is played by Shinshu Fuji, who is best known for playing Percival Gibbons in anime Lupine the third and Risotto Nero in JoJos bizarre adventure.

Alani Davis – Samira Wiley (English) and Takako Honda (Japanese)

Alani Davis is a novice detective, new to Los Angeles but more than capable of managing himself. Senator Bannister is a remarkable politician with strong views on replicant reproduction, and is one of the few familiar faces in Elle’s fragmented memoirs. English Blade Runner starring, Senator Bannister is played by veteran actor Gregg Henry, most recently seen as Martin Wexler in the Netflix action-thriller show Hit & Run. In Japanese Blade Runner starring is Senator Bannister voted by Masane Tsukayama, who is perhaps best known for voicing Guile in Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.

Niander Wallace, Sr. – Brian Cox (English) and Takaya Hashi (Japanese)

The founder and CEO of Wallace Corporation, Niander Wallace, Sr. is ruthless, even by the standards of businessmen in the world of Blade Runner. Brian Cox, who famously played William Stryker in X2: X-Men United and is currently known as Logan Roy in Succession, plays the older Wallace in English Blade Runner cast. He is voiced by Takaya Hashi, best known as Toki in The North Star’s fist, in Japanese Blade Runner cast.

Niander Wallace, Jr. – Wes Bentley (English) and Takehito Koyasu (Japanese)

While he will continue to be the villain of Blade Runner 2049, in 2033 Niander Wallace, Jr. is a brilliant young scientist with dreams that his father can not comprehend. Wes Bentley, best known for, among other roles, playing Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games, lends his vote to Niander Wallace, Jr. English Blade Runner cast. In Japanese Blade Runner starring, Niander Wallace, Jr. is voiced by Takehito Koyasu, best known as the voice of Dio Brando in JoJos bizarre adventure.

Marlowe – Josh Duhamel (English) and Taiten Kusunoki (Japanese): Marlowe is a dangerous Blade Runner.
