fulltime Associate Dean of Health Science Education. This twelve-month, term-contract position reports directly to the Chief Academic
Officer and is responsible for the leadership of the Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology programs.
Additionally, the successful candidate will provide leadership for Ashland Community & Technical College’s consortium with Maysville
Community & Technical College, which provides a regional respiratory technology program.

Duties

Responsibilities/Duties

  1. Academic Programs and Curriculum
    • Oversee the day to day operations of the academic
      division
    • Responsible for the academic schedule of classes
    • Provide leadership for program review, assessment, and
      accreditation of programs.
    • In conjunction with faculty, develop and support programs designed to improve quality of
      instruction
  1. Student Success
    • Serve as initial point of contact for student complaints
    • Coordinate
      faculty advising for all advising periods
    • Provide leadership with tracking key metrics relating to student
      success
  1. Faculty
    • Day to day supervision of all faculty in the division
    • Perform annual
      faculty/staff evaluations
    • Work with the e-learning coordinator to ensure all faculty in the division are competently trained and
      proficient with Blackboard
    • Hire and supervise all adjuncts for the division
    • Communicate regularly with adjuncts in
      coordination with discipline assessment leaders
  1. Other Activities
    • Oversee budget for
      division
    • Day to day supervision of all division staff
    • Work collaboratively with other leaders within the college and the
      community
    • Assist the Chief Academic Officer with strategic planning and 4DX
    • Maintain active, responsive, and positive
      communication with faculty, staff, students, and administration.

Qualifications

  • Master’s
    degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Nursing.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered RN license.
  • Previous
    supervisory experience is required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the profession, including clinical
    experience.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience teaching in a nursing program.
  • Experience with academic course or program
    evaluation preferred.
  • Experience with academic curriculum design preferred.
  • Experience with making data informed decisions
    preferred.
  • Doctorate in Nursing, Health Science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in nursing
    education administration preferred.
