TEMPLE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – A video showing a customer throwing hot soup at a cashier at a restaurant in Texas has gone viral. Now Amanda Martinez, the angry woman caught on tape, has been arrested.
The video is from Sol De Jalisco’s Mexican restaurant in Temple. Martinez, 31, was arrested and charged with assault that caused bodily harm.

According to police, in the video, Martinez picks up an order from the restaurant, but returns upset that her soup was so hot that it melted the plastic lid on the container. Restaurant manager Jannelle Broland talks to Martinez and allegedly offers to try to rectify the problem as Martinez continued with a tirade that ended with her throwing the soup in Broland’s face and storming out.

At the time of the assault, Broland said the soup was almost as hot as when it was first served, but it contained spices that burned her eyes and made her nose bleed.
Martinez was taken to Bell County Jail on a $ 5,000 bail.

In addition to the criminal charges, Martinez has reportedly been banned from the restaurant.
