Kendra Wilkinson said she had “a tough start” getting used to being a parent.
Former Playboy model who became reality star and former NFL player Hank Baskett ended their divorce in February 2019. They agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their two children: son Hank IV, 11, and daughter Alijah Mary, 7.
“I did not know how not to have my children,” the 36-year-old told People magazine on Thursday. “And then the guilt would set in. I’m in a neighborhood where everyone has their kids 24/7, and when I don’t have my kids, I want to cry.”
“I’m so a fish out of water,” she admitted. “It’s like, what do I do with my new life? [I’m now] to see who I am as a woman. “

But the “Girls Next Door” star said she has not given up on the idea of starting a new relationship in the future.
“I hope to find love again and fill my home with someone else’s energy,” she told the newspaper. “It’s going to be nice to have it again. I’ve done the work. I’ve done so much healing and therapy. I’ve done so much self-work. I’m now in a very strong place.”
These days, Wilkinson is focusing on a new career. The single mother is now a real estate agent and tells about her journey in a six-part documentary series for Discovery + entitled “Kendra Sells Hollywood”.
“I learn, grow, build from scratch,” she told Fox News. “… And it’s been very exciting, nerve-wracking.”

According to Wilkinson, she began studying to become an agent before the pandemic. She strapped down during the lockdown with the support of her children.
“I’ve had time for the last three years to get it together. I recovered from a bad depression. Now I’m getting back on my feet as a single mother and here to do business and support myself and my children,” she said.
“We are very connected,” she said of her dynamics with her children, “and we all work as a team. It’s just the three of us. And they were so happy to make sure I had my time to study. They did not jump around like that [yelling] ‘Mother!’ They were very respectful and they were so proud that I opened those books and really accepted them [studying] seriously.”
The reality TV star called this new phase of her life a “party” and said her ex was happy for her too.

“I put all my energy and mind and heart and soul into this business,” she said.
But it has not all been rainbows so far. Wilkinson said buyers and sellers have a preconceived notion of who she is because of her past in Hollywood.
“Customers wonder if I’m really doing this or just bullsh — ing. If I’m just doing it for TV, but I do not. I’m doing this seriously,” Wilkinson explained.
“I’m so, so grateful and blessed to have a great fanbase, and they’re following my journey. I need to find out right now how I can start a business and make money and really bring home [money] as a single mother. “
When it comes to dating, Wilkinson is uniquely focused on real estate. “I had thoughts about dating, but dating needs to be put on hold right now until I get this business going. My kids keep a close eye on me. And it’s very important to me and my kids that I get it going. here business before I start. dating. “
