Calgary police are investigating a shooting outside a store in the southeast that left a man dead Monday night.

Officers responded to reports that a man was found seriously injured around 1 p.m.
No one else has reported injuries from the shooting, which police believe was targeted.
“Anyone with information about tonight’s incident is asked to call the police or Crime Stoppers,” said Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta of the Calgary Police Service homicide unit.
“The first hours of any homicide investigation are crucial to gathering as much information as we can, to lead to a swift apprehension of the person or persons responsible.”
The homicide unit, patrol officers, dog unit and other CPS resources are working quickly to gather more information about what happened and find a clue to a possible suspect. Police currently have no suspicious description.
An autopsy will be scheduled in the coming days as police inform the relatives of the deceased man.
