Can you see the ass armor at the top of the post? It’s a prize available to knock out goals Halo infinite‘s first timed event, called “Fracture: Tenrai,” which went live on Xbox and PC this afternoon and runs through November 30th. For no other reason than “Ahhhh, look at that,” here’s another angle:
It’s called the Yoroi “armor core”, and yes, it’s glorious. The catch is that you will not be able to unlock everything you see there on a week-long marathon, even if you play literally every hour before the event temporarily gets dark on November 30th. Here’s everything you need to know about making money Halo infinite‘s ridiculously sick Yoroi armor and the associated rewards.
Do I need a premium Battle Pass?
Nix. The event is free for all players per. 343 branches. It is currently scheduled for three weeks during Halo infinitefirst season:
- First round: Today through November 30th
- Second round: January 4, 2022 through January 10, 2022
- Third round: February 1, 2022 to February 7, 2022
That said, players with the paid version of the match pass will unlock rewards at a faster rate.
What the heck? Why?
Halo infinite‘s Fracture: The Tenrai event binds rewards to an event-specific match pass, which is automatically added to your account at no extra cost. Among your weekly challenges, you will see a handful marked with an orange banner on the side. For each of them you complete, you advance one level further in the “Fracture: Tenrai” battle pass. (The event-specific challenges also typically provide experience that goes into completing your standard match pass so you can progress through both side by side.) Players ponying up to the premium combat pass are able to juggle and thus work towards completing four challenges at once instead of the three baseline.
You can only complete the event-specific challenges by playing the mode it is tied to.
And what condition is it?
Fracture: Tenrai is currently playing on a dedicated playlist for Fiesta, an older mode in glory multiplayer that gives birth to players randomized primary and secondary weapons. IN Halo infiniteIn this mode, you also start each life with a random piece of equipment for limited use – things like repulsor, fall wall and so on. And the typical spawn points for weapons and equipment on each map are disabled.

Fans have long enjoyed the Fiesta for how unpredictable matches play and for how quickly the tide can change. If someone on the losing team spawns with e.g. an energy sword and a grappleshot, it’s more or less a guaranteed game-changing Killing Frenzy (the medal you get for scoring 10 kills without dying). But if two players on the winning team happen to get rocket launchers from the jump, yes …
Right now, the Fiesta only appears as a slayer (glory speaks for “deathmatch”) and can only be played on the seven close and closeish quarters cards: Recharge, Live Fire, Bazaar, Launch Site, Behemoth (the best), Aquarius and Streets.
Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment when asked if objective modes – such as oddball and capture-the-flag – would be added during the week, or to clarify whether Fracture: Yoroi would play out again. . on the Fiesta during its subsequent appearances.
How are the challenges?
The Challenges of Fracture: Tenrai consists of fairly loose tasks such as “earn 10 assists in Fiesta PvP” or “get a double kill in Fiesta PvP.” The ones I’ve seen do not seem very harsh, especially if you plan to burn hours of your life playing Halo infinite in the coming holiday weekend.
Do not bet on completing the entire pass in one week. The basic armor comes at level five – completely feasible if you concentrate. But the amazing Yokai helmet (it’s the one with the horns) is not available until you hit level 25, and the event’s combat pass has a total of 30 levels.

I started the event with two Tenrai challenges on my kampass. My list of upcoming weeklies shows only five more. It’s unclear if the total number of dedicated challenges is random or set to a hard seven, but no matter how you split it, there is no way to complete each level of the pass in a week. Even if you make liberal use of challenge swap and succeed in getting a Tenrai-affiliated one with each swap, there are just not 30 challenges in a given week.
While the event returns for a week each in January and February, 343 have not formalized any additional dates. But it has said the Tenrai event will take place six times during Halo infinites planned first season, which ends in May 2022.
