Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser last week issued an internal response to ongoing reports on misconduct allegations against Activision Blizzard.

Bowser’s email that has been publicly shared by Fanbyte, was released on November 19 and reached “all levels” of Nintendo of America – including in-house development houses such as Retro Studios (Metroid Prime 4) and the newly acquired Canadian team Next Level Games (Luigi’s Mansion 3).

Bowser mentioned how “disturbing and disturbing” the reports were and said that all companies in the industry were responsible for creating an environment where everyone is treated as equal:

“Together with all of you, I have been following the latest developments with Activision Blizzard and the ongoing reports of sexual harassment and toxicity in the company. I find these reports disturbing and disturbing. They are contrary to my values as well as Nintendo’s beliefs, values and policies. ”

“Every business in the industry must create an environment where everyone is respected and treated as equal, and where everyone understands the consequences of not doing so.”

His email goes on to say how Nintendo has committed to an open and inclusive workplace – welcoming everyone – and expects the same from the rest of the industry and Nintendo’s partners.

Nintendo’s representatives have apparently also been “in touch with Activision, taking action and evaluating others.” Bowser also mentioned how Nintendo has worked with ESA (a lobbying organization Activision is also a member of) and urges it to strengthen its attitudes to harassment and keep its members to the highest standard.

Both Sony and Microsoft are also reported to be reassessing their relationship with Activision Blizzard. You can read more in our previous stories:
