New England Patriots linebacker Matthew Judon is on a mission: to remove macaroni and cheese from the Thanksgiving table.
Judon went viral earlier in the week after tossing the popular comfort food with some nasty comments.
“It’s disgusting,” Judon said, according to CBS Boston. “Get it off the table. The bathrooms will be less busy and everyone will have a better day. … If you want a good Thanksgiving, do not cook mac and cheese.”
Clearly, Thanksgiving accessories are a matter of taste, but Judon is convinced that his hot choice is the right one.
“We have to get it off the table,” Judon said. according to The Boston Globe. “It’s just cheese and noodles. That is not very good.”
“It’s probably one of the most overrated dishes,” Judon said, adding that a table without mac and cheese would provide “a much better Thanksgiving for everyone in the house.”
Judon’s antipathy to mac and cheese is not new, and nothing has made him like it as he gets older.
“I’ve never liked macaroni and cheese,” Judon said, according to the Globe. “You know how they say ‘Your taste buds change every seven years?’ “Every time I try it, it’s the same. It’s never going to change. It’s never getting better. Okay?”
Unfortunately for Judon, he will likely have to deal with the subject of his anger at his family’s Thanksgiving dinner.
“My whole family loves it. My brothers and sisters. My mother cooks it in a big pot – they know they must not put it on my plate, or it’s a battle cry,” he said.
Many Twitter users could not stand Judon’s hot take.
Judon continued to milk the controversy Tuesday night off post an Instagram video where he reacted to his haters.
One person who stuck with Judon was the user who praised him in October only for demanding his release from the team for his opinions on mac and cheese.
“Joe, I really just think this is blatantly contradictory,” he said. “On October 11th, you loved me. Today I say something about some food, now I get cut? Sheeeeesh.”
Yet Judon took the stiffness in stiff arm and said, “This I think is just what you get when you say something about mac and cheese. ”
