Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes’ new miniseries True story dropped on Netflix yesterday (November 25) and it features a surprise from a giant Marvel star.
The drama follows Hart as a world-famous comedian The Kid looking for an escape, after a night with his brother (Wesley Snipes) leaves the duo in battle to cover up a murder.
Its second episode sees none other than Chris Hemsworth star in a superhero blockbuster. Does that sound familiar?

The episode opened with Hart in handcuffs, but when he is released, it becomes clear that it is not the story that is set up in the first episode.
Hart’s eyes glow red, and a mysterious character smashes through the wall that turns out to be Chris Hemsworth. It’s not part of Hart’s character story, it’s part of Hart’s character story. Still with us?
The clip gave viewers a look at the superhero’s blockbuster that made The Kid a superstar, named Anti-resistance.

Hemsworth appears to be playing a fictional version of himself as he also rose to superstar status as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Eric Newman, the creator of True story, said the cameo was only possible because he was already working with Hemsworth on his upcoming Netflix movie, Escape from Spiderhead.
“I was making the film with Hemsworth at the time in Australia,” Newman explained Insider. “Interesting fact: it was the first shot we shot True story. We shot Spiderhead and I asked if he would do it, and he said, ‘Absolutely.’ “

Snipes is actually also an MCU alum, after playing as Eric Brooks, AKA Blade, in 1998 Blade movie. The role of the vampire anti-hero has since been taken over by Moonlight‘s Mahershala Ali in both Netflix Luke Cage and Eternal.
True story is available to stream now on Netflix.
