Rolls with it. Jana Kramer got reality on what it is like to celebrate his first holiday without his two children after divorcing Mike Caussin earlier this year.
“Happy Thanksgiving 🖤. I am more than grateful for my beautiful babies,” the 37-year-old singer wrote via Instagram on Thursday, November 25th. “My heart hurts not to be with them today and I have a feeling whether it’s the first holiday apart or the 30th that will always hurt my heart.”
That One Tree Hill alum shared a series of photos with her daughter Jolie, 5, and son Jace, 2, which she shares with the former NFL player, 34, while they were free to spend time with Caussin, and she celebrated Thanksgiving solo.
“BUT how grateful I am and grateful to be their mother,” Kramer continued. “Thinking of all the others who have a ‘first’ holiday with loss or missing or just a hard time. Let it out, and then let’s eat and drink our emotions 😂😂. ”
That Holiday Fix Up The actress, who filed for divorce from Caussin in April after five years of marriage, opened up about more about spending the holidays apart from her little ones in a series of Instagram stories on Thursday.
“The first one without the kids. I knew it was going to be hard. The rain outside is not helping,” Kramer said in a clip. “
The Michigan native, who ended his divorce in July, remarked that it’s “OK to feel the feelings,” no matter what you go through. “I think it’s okay to show emotion. Holidays are not always easy for everyone, ”she added.
Earlier this month, the “I Got the Boy” singer told exclusively Us Weekly about her upcoming vacation plans and how they would be different after her divorce.
“It’s not going to be easy,” she said on November 8. “I honestly can hardly talk about it without getting emotional. It’s going to be hard.”
Kramer explained that she wants the children – as she has custody over 240 days a year, while Caussin gets them the other 125 days – Christmas Eve this year. The special evening will mark their first Christmas season as a family of three, which Kramer hopes will be “amazing”, even though it’s different from years earlier.
“I’m looking forward to it, but I’m scared of it too,” she explained, noting that she plans to keep some traditions intact. “I want to do some of the same things we’re always done with the kids, which’s just like them [bake] cookies and decorate the tree together and open a gift on Christmas Eve. “
That Christmas in Mississippi actress revealed that although the idea of decorating can “depress” her, she wants to keep things festive for her little ones.
“I want to create something that is very special for the three of us. Just our little special memory and special tradition that we do together as a family of three, ”said Kramer U.S. “I do not know what it is yet, but I try to think about it.”
