Thanksgiving gas prices at least $ 1.20 more than last year

The national average gas price on Thanksgiving 2021 is at least $ 1.20 more than last year’s Thanksgiving.

According to AAA, Thursday’s national average is $ 3,397. Last year on Thanksgiving, the price was $ 2,116.

As of October, the national average price of gas has risen by about one cent. The price was $ 3,387 in October, less than the November average.

November’s rise in prices is part of a trend that has risen since President Joe Biden’s presidency.

The price of gas has risen primarily to Biden’s war on American energy. In January 2021, Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline.

“The Keystone XL pipeline was expected to transport 830,000 barrels per day of Alberta oil sands to Nebraska, but the project was delayed for the past 12 years due to opposition from U.S. landowners, Native American tribes and environmentalists,” Reuters reported.

Biden is also considering whether to cancel the 78-year-old Line 5 pipeline in Michigan. The pipeline could be canceled because of what Indian tribes called an “existential threat” [their] treaty rights, resources and fundamental livelihoods. “

Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) has already “revoked and terminated”The easement of the pipeline and demanded the pipeline be closed for the spring.

Meanwhile, Biden has given Russia the opportunity to expand its oil exports to Europe by building a pipeline from Russia to Germany. The project is devastating for US manufacturers selling the product to Europe.

Biden is not to blame for the high gas prices on his policies, but on price-fixed oil companies. Last week, Biden called on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate oil companies for “anti-competitive behavior.”

“The Federal Trade Commission is empowered to consider whether illegal behavior is costing families at the pump,” Biden wrote. “I think you should do it right away.”

To artificially push the price down for U.S. workers and families, Biden has released oil from U.S. oil reserves.

Oil reserves were replenished in 2020 by President Trump, who was criticized by then-candidate Kamala Harris for rescuing oil companies over supply.

The oversupply of oil harmed U.S. producers and U.S. energy dependence.
