BOSTON (CBS) – There has been some growing concern in the region regarding Mac Jones’ as yet unresolved ability to cope with the harsh New England winter. If the novice needs to learn something about adapting, he can simply look to his faithful center.
David Andrews, who is also a product from the SEC, and who also grew up in the south, has fitted into New England fairly smoothly since signing as an undefeated free agent in 2015. He has won Super Bowls, achieved a captaincy and has embodied much of that which does. Patriot culture unique.
It includes adaptation to the cold. While he has previously enjoyed the cool weather, he once again looked impenetrable in the face of the cold ahead of Sunday’s game against the Titans.
The Patriots tweeted a nice side-by-side picture of the pregame temperatures and Andrews’ pregame attire:

For Andrews, there are no sleeves, no long pants, no problem at all. This is… nothing new.

Jones, who grew up in Jacksonville and of course played collegiately in Alabama, said this week that he trusts Brian Hoyer’s advice when it comes to approaching the cold weather. Clearly, though, he wants plenty of experienced veterans to help him be as ready as possible for some of the cool days ahead – both this year and beyond.
