Long Island weather forecast: Chance of showers, rain, then dry until Wednesday

Snow showers are possible Sunday morning on Long Island with clouds and a chance of rain and showers through the night, then dry conditions until Thursday, the National Weather Service said.

Any snow that falls on Sunday will “be nothing more than just a trail,” said James Tomasini, a meteorologist at the weather service.

The high Sunday will hit around 44 degrees and drop to 31 at night. On Monday, the weather forecast is mostly sunny with a high temperature of around 43 and a minimum of 28 overnight, according to the weather service.

Tuesday will see more clouds and a height of 43 with mostly clear skies at night and a minimum of 31. The sun will return on Wednesday with a maximum of 48 and a low at night of 37.

Thursday is expected to get a little warmer with a high temperature around 55 and possibly the upper 50s, although there is a 30% chance of rain before noon.

Sun is in the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday with highlights in the lower 50s and upper 40s, respectively.
