Karan Johar, Gigi Hadid to Kendall Jenner: Celebrities bring condolences over Virgil Abloh’s sudden death

Virgil Abloh, creative director of Louis Vuitton and Off White, died Sunday night at the age of 41 after losing the battle against cancer. The LVMH group shared a statement with a statement about the brand’s losses. Abloh’s family confirmed that the fashion icon died while battling heart angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer for which he quietly underwent treatment for 2 years.

The news shocked the fashion industry, and celebrities, models and more have since shared heartfelt messages and revealed their favorite moments with the designer.

Hailey Bieber shared a heartfelt message with a series of photos with the designer tailoring her wedding dress. “From walking on his runways to getting him to design my wedding dress and all the other amazing moments in between, I felt like he was always messing with me,” she said in a long message.

Model BFF Kendal Jenner was also quick to share a series of photos with Abloh with a message about experiences she drew from the designer. “Even though he knew he only had that much time, he was bright, he was kind and he was full of love. We all need a little bit of Virgil in us,” the American supermodel said.

Gigi Hadid spoke of the designer’s “Kindness and energetic generosity left a lasting impression on every life he touched.”

Designer Marc Jacobs also took to his Instagram to share condolences with Abloh’s wife Shannon Abloh and the children Lowe and Gray Abloh, whom he is survived by.
