The Director of Development is a member of the Institutional Advancement (IA) team
assigned to develop philanthropic resources for the for College of Engineering (CoE) and College of Computing and Informatics (CCI). This
position will play a central role in major gift fundraising and contribute to the enhancement of leadership annual giving and major gift
support. They report to the Assistant Vice President. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Secures major gifts of $25,000 or more by pursuing the identification, qualification, cultivation,
solicitation, and stewardship of private support from individuals to the College of Engineering and College of Computing and
- Builds and manages a pool of approximately 150 prospects capable of making commitments of a minimum of $25,000 in a
- Maintains an active schedule of face-to-face meetings with leadership annual fund donors and major gift suspects
and prospects, averaging fifteen (15) such meetings per month. Manages donors in assigned geographic territories throughout the
- Identify and move high level annual giving donors to the major gift pool, helping to grow and feed the donor
- Coordinates with the Assistant Vice President in identifying and working with key volunteers to establish and strengthen
advisory boards for the College of Engineering and College of Computing and Informatics.

President and the Office of Alumni Engagement to help foster activities that contribute to a culture of philanthropy in the colleges.
- Stewards donors through ongoing communications, recognition activities, invitations to key events, and interaction with beneficiaries of
- Promotes University priorities and image to constituents. Serves as front line staff to promote campus goals and
objectives. Maintains current knowledge of university-wide institutional priorities. As appropriate, and with the knowledge of the Assistant
Vice President, qualifies, cultivates, and solicits prospects on behalf of other campus units.
- Follows Institutional Advancement
procedures with regard to prospect management and documenting contacts. Responsible for oversight and submission of all relative fundraising
reports, statistics, projections, and publications.
