An animated Marvel’s Avengers trailer focuses on Shuri, Wakanda’s newly appointed queen regent, and creates the impending return of Ulysses Klaw.
A new animated Marvel’s Avengers trailer returns to War for Wakanda to set up the game’s newly released Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound mission. Ever since Crystal Dynamics’ multiplayer Marvel adventure was launched, the game has struggled to find its foothold. The developer continues to support the title through consistent free updates, and the first Marvel’s Avengers raid is expected to improve the title’s long-term health.
Marvel’s Avengers has been praised for its combat system, where each playable hero is radically unique in terms of combat style and available powers. However, the game has also been criticized both for its aggressive microtransaction system and lack of significant playoff content. The title’s latest update promises to relax its microtransaction focus by letting players earn cosmetics through gameplay, while the Klaw Raid: Discordant Sound mission will add a significant piece of playoff content. The challenging new raid that follows the story of Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda expansion, sees the villain Ulysses Klaw return to Wakanda’s vibranium mines. Raid’s battle meetings will require flawless teamwork from a team of Earth’s Most Powerful Heroes at the maximum level, while Klaw Raid’s mysterious puzzle room will put players’ minds and cooperation to the test.
ONE Marvel’s Avengers animated teaser trailer titled War for Wakanda: A Queen’s Conundrum sets up the story of the game’s Klaw Raid. This latest cartoon-style video focuses on Shuri, the sister of T’Challa named Wakanda’s Queen Regent at the end of War for Wakanda history. The trailer sees Shuri reflect on her brother’s influence on her fate before revealing the existence of several Wakandan satellites in orbit. These reconnaissance tools allow the advanced African nation to remain vigilant, which is likely to come in handy when Ulysses Klaw returns to the Discordant Sound raid.
Marvel’s Avengers’ Klaw Raid and an abundance of quality of life changes will be released in the update on November 30, but PlayStation users will have even more new content to grab as they can now play as Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers. In addition, the web-winding hero comes with its own suite of unique combat moves and throughput abilities. The friendly crime fighter will be able to web-swing and run on the wall to get around, while web-based abilities will make him a valuable ally on the battlefield. While the console-exclusive wall-crawler will not be accompanied by a whole new story, a series of missions will detail Spider-Man’s background story and explore his relationship with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
While Marvel’s Avengers has never fully recovered from its dull launch, Klaw Raid: Discordant Sounds seems like a step in the right direction. The playoff glove will test an entire team of even veteran players, and the update on November 30 also comes with quality of life changes, such as reworking of gears and erasing cosmetics. This update also serves as a continuation of the ever evolving Marvel’s Avengers history, with Shuri’s status as Wakanda’s Queen Regent setting in motion a new battle in the nation’s valuable vibranium mound.
