Rep. Ilhan Omar releases statement on conversation with rep. Lauren Boebert; Conservative congresswoman then tells her own story

Today, rep. Ilhan Omar made a statement after speaking with Rep. Lauren Boebert about a controversial video posted last week where Boebert shared a story about seeing Omar in an elevator in the US capital.

WASHINGTON DC – Today, rep. Ilhan Omar made a statement after speaking with Rep. Lauren Boebert regarding a video posted last week in which Boebert shared a story about seeing Omar, who is a Muslim, in an elevator in the US capital and saying. “She does not have a backpack, we should be fine,” insinuated that she was a terrorist.

After being criticized, the Conservative congresswoman tweeted an apology on Friday “to everyone in the Muslim community” offended by her comments, but not an apology to Omar.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), said in a statement that he spoke with Boebert on Friday and that she had apologized for her comments.
