Call of Duty Warzones Gulag gets an update and will allow players to keep their weapons and equipment when the new Calcera card comes out.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Pacific Season One is around the corner and a new set of changes is coming to the first-person battle royale title with the arrival of its new map; such as a major change in the Gulag mechanics that now allows players to keep their weapons after a victory. War zone‘s brand new Caldera card officially launches on December 8th and Vanguard players can expect early access to the WWII-themed island in its preview phase. other than that Call of Duty: VanguardSeason 1 begins the same day, making December a busy month for Call of Duty fans.
Gulag is a fan favorite War zone system and any player who has entered the battlefield obviously encounters the mechanic. The iconic 1v1 arena allows for redemption and an extra life for continued combat in the main game. Two players are dropped into the Gulag with random weapons and the winner is sent back to the battlefield while the loser is officially ended. Corresponding to War zone, Gulag has been updated several times over the last year and a half, though much of its gameplay has remained the same.
As shared byCall of Duty insider CharlieIntel on Twitter, the Call of Duty informant highlighted Activision’s latest update post and reassured those returning to War zone that the new Caldera card will be introduced with a new Gulag mechanic – which allows players to keep the weapons and all the equipment used during their 1v1 battle. While players can carry any item over from the Gulag, they must act carefully in relation to how they approach a match. The developers state that those familiar with the Iron Trials ’84 mode will be familiar with the new Gulag mechanic, as players must act as efficiently as possible, as only remaining ammunition and equipment are brought back to War zone.
Activision recently took a closer look War zone‘s upcoming caldera with a new image outlining the map’s 15 different sections. In addition, the latest update post on Call of Duty‘s official website dives deep into all these distinctive areas with new images and summaries to help players learn about each new section of the map – a useful tool as there will be a lot of ground to cover when the update falls into this week.
Call of Duty’s War Zone‘s iconic Gulag system differs from other Battle Royale titles; and with a new upgrade possibly adding a new layer of strategy and excitement to the battlefield. It is currently unknown whether the new mechanic change will be temporary just like it War zone Iron Trails ’84, but players can look forward to packing new heat when they return from the dead with War zone‘s new Gulag update on December 8th.
