EXCLUSIVE: Succession star Sarah Snook has taken on the lead role in the Oz horror thriller Run Rabbit Run, who replaces Elisabeth Moss, who is out for planning reasons.
Emmy nominated Snook is set to star in director Daina Reids (The waitress’ story) film about a fertility doctor whose firm grip on the life cycle is put to the test as her young daughter begins to exhibit increasingly strange behavior. Further casting has not yet been revealed.
The novelist Hannah Kent wrote the script based on an original idea developed with Carver Films, with Anna McLeish and Sarah Shaw from Carver Films (Relic) to produce, and with XYZ Films as executive producer alongside 30West and executive producers Deanne Weir and Olivia Humphrey.
XYZ Films finances through its production fund supported by IPR.VC in collaboration with Screen Australia and handles world sales. Umbrella Entertainment handles distribution in Australia / NZ. Film Victoria, the South Australian Film Corporation, the Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund and Soundfirm also support the film.
Snook, best known for playing Shiv Roy in the HBO smash Succession, has also participated in Pieces of a woman, Winchester, Steve Jobs and Predestination.
Reid recently directed Apple’s The glowing girls and has also directed Emmy-nominated episodes of The waitress’ story, as well as HBOs Outsider, Amazons Upload, and Sunshine. Reid has previously directed Snook in limited series The secret river.
