Both get a styling refresh, and the Jetta gets a new engine
Volkswagen Canada has released pricing and details for the updated 2022 Jetta and Jetta GLI, which start at $ 22,595 and $ 31,595 respectively.
Both models get styling updates with new front and rear bumpers, new colors and wheel designs that are unique to each trim. Their interior also gets a tweak, while upgraded technology includes a standard “Digital Cockpit” instrument cluster.
The Jetta now receives a revised 1.5 L turbocharged four-cylinder from the new Taos, which provides 158 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, up from its previous 1.4 L with 147 horsepower. The Jetta GLI uses a 2.0 L turbo four-cylinder, giving 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.

Starting prices represent an increase of $ 1,000 over the 2021 ticket for the Jetta and $ 600 more for the GLI.
Both models start with a six-speed manual transmission, while the Jetta can be selected for an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the GLI with a seven-speed automatic direct transmission (DSG).
The Jetta comes in three equipment levels Comfortline, Highline and Execline. Highline is available as an option with a new Sport package, which adds elements such as an electronic differential lock, dark graphite 17-inch wheels, darkened grille and accents, black ceiling trim and “leather” sports seats. As before, GLI comes in a single, fully loaded level.
