Cobra Kai Season 4 Actress teases Johnny & Carmen’s 2nd Chance relationship

Cobra Kai actress Vanessa Rubio teases Carmen Diaz and Johnny Lawrence’s relationship in Cobra Kai season 4 and suggests another chance for love story.

Cobra Kai Actress Vanessa Rubio has teased the sequel to Johnny and Carmen’s relationship in season 4. Cobra Kai is a Karate Kid spin-off series that premiered on Netflix in 2018. The popular series has so far boasted of 3 seasons where the fourth set will debut on New Year’s Eve. Cobra Kai takes place 34 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament and follows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) as they educate the next generation of karate students. But as their protracted feud spreads to the next generation, it paves the way for the emergence of an even more brutal and sinister Cobra Kai dojo under John Kreese (Martin Kove).

While much of the series focuses on karate, it also focuses on both new and old relationships. In the series, Sam and Miguel’s complicated relationship is equated with Lawrence and Carmen Diaz’s (Rubio) complicated adult relationship. Lawrence, who is divorced from an estranged teenage son, is attracted to Diaz as he begins mentoring her teenage son, Miguel (Xolo Maridueña). But at the end of season 2, their relationship breaks up as Diaz blames Johnny for Miguel’s serious injury. While making up at the end of season 3, their relationship is once again disrupted as Miguel is attacked by Cobra Kai students.

In an interview with THR, teases Rubio that Lawrence and Diaz’s relationship will continue in Cobra Kai season 4. Referring to the relationship, she teased that viewers will come to “see where it goes” in season 4. She also went on to discuss the strong and stable figure that Diaz brings to Lawrence’s tumultuous life. Diaz may be the only one who can help Lawrence improve himself, and they may get just another chance at love story in season 4. See Rubio’s statement below:

We’ll see where it goes. But I think their relationship shows that Carmen’s presence in the show is clear. She’s the candle flame we all hope Johnny will follow and get better when he gets there. Another chance love story is related to many people.

The idea of another chance for love story would certainly be appealing Cobra Kai season 4. In the same way as Karate Kid franchise, Cobra Kai does not strike for Lawrence. Not only is he divorced, alienated from his son and down on his luck, but then his Cobra Kai dojo is taken over by Kreese, who further alienates Lawrence and his son. Of course, many of the problems Lawrence has are the ones he himself has created and are the result of his impulsive actions. Meanwhile, Diaz is a strong-willed, independent, but also tender and loving, single mother who has the power to guide Lawrence on the right path and show him that he is worthy of redemption.

Rubio’s teasing of Lawrence and Diaz’s relationship in season 4 is in line with Cobra Kai’s focus on love and relationships. The series has managed to follow all stages and scenarios of romance: from busy married partners to teenagers who find the first love, to divorced people who find new love. Although the series has not yet brought Lawrence and Diaz’s relationship full circle, season 3 has already teased that it was approaching that point. Lawrence is ready to confess his love for Diaz as he is interrupted by the Cobra Kai attack. Karate is a big part of Lawrence’s life, but he can not let it continue to ruin all his relationships. Now there is hope for it Cobra Kai Season 4 will finally see Lawrence find a balance between karate and privacy and get his happy ending with Diaz.
