Andy Cohen gives former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio a New Year’s dismissal

An animated Andy Cohen did not slip the words while telling viewers of CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” coverage what he thought of former Mayor Bill de Blasio, who was replaced by Mayor Eric Adams after the ball fell.

Cohen leaned into the camera and almost had to be held back by co-host Anderson Cooper as he unloaded on the former mayor – despite Cooper pleading with the Bravo personality not to “go on a rant.”

“Make his victory-lapdance after four years as the most shitty period for the mayor of New York,” stammered Cohen, when an upset Cooper shook his head and repeated “wow” in disbelief after failing to change subject.

“The only thing Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what a horrible mayor he has been. So, sayonara sugar! “

The “Watch What Happens Live” host and West Village resident missed the length of de Blasio’s tenure. He actually served 8 years.

But despite the mayor’s success at the ballot box, de Blasio often attracted Bronx cheers from a number of constituencies, including the NYPD’s privates, Black Lives Matter protesters, concertgoers and fans of competing hot dog eating.
