White was the only surviving member of the four famous friends on screen who starred in the Primetime Emmy-winning show “Golden Girls.” However, she is perhaps best known for her role as Sue Ann Nivens in the classic sitcom “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”. Recently, White starred as Elka Ostrovsky in the television series “Hot in Cleveland”.
The news of her death last Friday, confirmed by her agent Jeff Witjas, provoked sad reactions from fans and colleagues.
