DeLuca may no longer be alive in grey’s Anatomy the universe, however Giacomo Gianniotti is still in contact with his former Gray Sloan Memorial colleagues, he revealed during a game Us Weekly ‘s cost secrets.
When asked who he texted most from the ABC series, the 32-year-old actor named Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt).
“He’s just been a good friend and mentor over the years since he’s also an instructor,” Gianniotti said. “I leaned a lot on him in my directing career and as an actor and guy, and he’s just a great guy.”
Speaking of instruction, the native of Rome named an operation scene from an episode of the April 2021 drama as the longest scene he has ever filmed.
“I instructed last [season], one of the episodes and we had an operation where we saved this little boy’s life with a heart disease, ”he explained. “And I felt like we were filming that scene all day. And I kind of had three scenes to shoot after that, and I was going crazy. Any surgery – every actor on the show will tell you – that the longest scenes are the surgery scenes. “Because the medical stuff is so complicated to reset, so when we have to leave again, we have to do everything again. It takes a long time.”
Gianniotti was a full-time cast on grey’s Anatomy from season 12 to 16, and appeared for the first time in season 11. When asked what character – besides Dr. Andrew DeLuca – there was his favorite, he named James Pickens Jr.s Richard Webber.
“I love Richard Webber, and I love Pick – James Pickens – the man, the legend, too,” he said U.S. “His character, just like at the table reads, no one gets bigger laughs than him, always. And he does nothing. He’s effortless. He’s no emotion, deadpan, and the whole room just bursts with laughter. He’s so funny. His character is fun.”
He noticed that too Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Gray) is “funny”.
“She’s so funny. I do not think Meredith Gray is the funniest character, but Ellen is funny, so funny,” he continued. “She just loves rap music so much, something also very different from Meredith Gray.”
As for the actor who forgot their lines the most, Gianniotti said: “Probably Justin Chambers – but Justin, I love you so much. “
