Position
Information:

The College of Health and Wellness at NWHSU is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a dynamic
individual to lead our Associate of Science in Radiation Therapy program. The Program Chair will share our vision of becoming the premier
Radiation Therapy program in the Midwest and play a key role in advancing that vision.

The Radiation Therapy Program Chair is a
full-time position with responsibilities in both the administration and teaching and is responsible for ensuring continued compliance with
JRCERT accreditation standards. In partnership with exceptional Admissions, IT and Marketing teams the Program Chair will promote the
program and strong enrollment. Through online and in-person educational models and using the latest educational technology, this individual
will mold the next generation of Radiation Therapists. NWHSU recently invested in a dedicated state of the art VERT lab from
the leading provider of virtual reality training systems in radiation therapy.

The Program Chair works closely with the
Radiation Therapy Clinical Coordinator and our clinical partners through the US to ensure our students are exposed to the latest treatment
technologies available. The Program Chair will contribute to the integrative health focused mission of the University, encouraging learning
across disciplines.

This is a 12-month, faculty position where academic rank and compensation will be determined by qualifications
and experience.

Work Location:

Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live
local and come to campus as needed.

Responsibilities:

The program chair recruits, manages, and evaluates faculty. The program chair acts on behalf of
the Radiation Therapy program in allocating resources, submitting course schedules, managing facilities, and communicating program
needs.

The program chair serves as the principal liaison between the Radiation Therapy program and other campus departments.

The program chair carries principal responsibility for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Lead and manage the program
    accreditation compliance requirements
  • Shared responsibility for meeting program enrollment goals in partnership with Admissions and
    Marketing
  • Manage program expenses to promote overall fiscal sustainability of the program
  • Maintain and enhance the
    academic quality of the program through facilitating regular review and assessment of its curriculum
  • Partners with the Dean to
    develop and monitor the program budget
  • Provide liaison, information, and evaluations to administrative offices, faculty committees,
    ad hoc committees, and other groups
  • Monitor course registrations and make appropriate adjustments in course schedules and
    instructor assignments in cooperation with the Registrar and Dean’s Office
  • Proactively manage recruitment for faculty leaves and
    separations including developing a pipeline of contributors (full-time and adjunct)
  • Provides management and coaching for direct
    reports including administration of the performance management process
  • Monitor and evaluate major assessment measures of student
    learning pertaining to department courses and curricular threads
  • Take appropriate corrective action as needed for continuous
    quality improvement of student outcomes specific to department courses and curricular threads
  • Ensure department courses are
    correctly mapped to Program Learning Outcomes and accreditation standards
  • Monitor program assessment data and propose changes to
    the program curriculum as needed
  • Adapt curriculum to promote integration. Work across departments and programs to build experiences
    for integration with other programs.
  • Coordinate departmental participation in student orientation activities as needed
  • Collaborate with department faculty and student advising and support staff to meet students’ advising and support needs
  • Respond
    to student concerns regarding department faculty and courses and attempt to resolve concerns according to established processes and the
    chain of command
  • Maintain a responsive and respectful student learning experience

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree;
  • Proficient in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program
    administration, and academic advising;
  • Three years’ clinical experience in the professional discipline;
  • Two years’
    experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited program;
  • Holds current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    certification and registration, or equivalent, in radiation therapy.
