Skin care has quickly become a raging trend and a practice of self-care. Today, more women and even men are investing in products that not only make their skin look younger but also focus on deeper rooted issues like acne, clogging of pores, restoring the pH level of the skin and more.
As we dive into the new year, we also see more ways to work on ourselves and improve ourselves, not only at work but also internally. Part of it includes caring for your skin and hair from the inside out to improve their texture and quality. Although drastic changes can not be made overnight, we have selected a few easy decisions that we can make and follow for better skin and hair in 2022.
Remove your makeup
A main rule we should already follow is to remove makeup before going to bed, to get a clear skin. Many times we are so tired at the end of our days going from desk to dinner that we think we can let this time slip by. But every time you sleep with makeup on, your pores become clogged, which can cause breakouts and infection. No, you do not have to double clean like that some days. Just stroke your face with a cotton ball soaked in micellar water and then hit the sack.
Before embarking on a 10-step skincare routine, it is imperative to form a habit of first cleansing, toning and then moisturizing your skin before going to bed every night. Although you may not see results right away, your skin will be replenished.
When we return to work from home, we may return to the habit of believing that SPF is only required when the sun hits us directly. But computer screen light and even diffused sunlight can cause pigmentation and cause the skin to age faster, causing wrinkles and fine lines. Whether you work from bed, your desk or the office, sunscreen is an ingredient you should not skip.
If you are already doing all of the above and not exfoliating your skin, the results will be much slower. This is because exfoliation helps get rid of the dead skin on top while also removing impurities and dirt that clog your pores. Exfoliation once a week is a must!
Customize your hair
After shampooing your hair (twice), your scalp feels squeaky clean, but the tips of your mane will soon lack shine if you do not care for and mask your hair. A basic hair conditioner will do well, handle frizz, boost hydration and leave your hair silky soft and looking shiny.
Skip the burning water
Although it acts as a saving grace, especially during the winter months, taking a shower in scorching hot water leaves not only the skin but also the hair extremely dehydrated. Wrapping on moisturizer after a steaming hot shower rehydrates it, but the damage has already been done!
While these may seem extremely basic, it is imperative to follow these for better skin and hair by 2022.
